Stronger Futures
Support for women who are living with or are in recovery from domestic abuse.
If you are currently facing domestic abuse
Our domestic abuse drop-in sessions mean that women who are wanting help, support and advice can come into a safe, non threatening space and engage on your terms, when you are ready to do so, when you are safe.
We will work through a risk assessment with you. My Sisters’ House works with women who are in ‘medium risk’ or ‘low risk’ situations.
If your situation is high risk, we’ll organise support for you from our partners at Worth. Once they help to reduce the risk you are facing, you are very welcome to return to My Sisters’ House for support.
Domestic Abuse Drop-in times
Bognor Regis: Thursday 5pm -8pm
Chichester: Thursday 5pm -8pm
You can also attend any of our general drop-in times.
If you are recovering from domestic abuse
1 to 1 support
Your keyworker will work with you to find ways to manage and reduce your risk and help you move forward at a pace that works for you. If you wish to report your situation to the police, we can help with that too. Support could include free legal advice on non-molestation orders and family court proceedings, and financial and housing advice. We also have access to free counselling sessions.
Stronger Futures Peer Group
A 12-session course and peer group for women recovering from domestic abuse relationships (intimate partner or family member).
Learn about domestic abuse and understand your feelings and experiences as part of a group of women supporting each other on your path to recovery. The group is a safe, supportive space for women to explore their feelings around domestic abuse, and begin to take steps to rebuild their lives.
We run a face-to-face session and an online version. Contact office@mysistershouse.info for the current dates and times.
The sessions build up your knowledge over the 12 weeks, but they also work as standalone sessions meaning you can choose to join in at any point. Download an overview of the course here.
