We are thrilled to announce that My Sisters’ House are the official charity for the 13th running of the Markel Magnolia Cup. The Charity race, where 12 inspirational women line up to race down Goodwood Racecourse’s home straight, will take place on Ladies Day, Thursday 1 August 2024 at the Qatar Goodwood Festival.

My Sisters’ House is humbled to be chosen as a smaller, more local charity, compared to previous Goodwood choices of national charities. The ethos of the Magnolia Cup is to support inspirational women, celebrating their uniqueness, community and strength. With the charity motto being to help women “thrive, not just survive”, the Magnolia Cup is a perfect representation of what My Sisters’ House stands for. As well as an unprecedented fundraising opportunity for the charity, the team is hugely excited about raising awareness within the community of Chichester, gaining support and ensuring more vulnerable women can reach out to us if they need, now, and in the future.

Over 600 women a month are helped by us and demand our their services continues to rise, particularly since the cost-of-living crisis. Founded by a group of like-minded local women, and now in our tenth year of operations, My Sisters’ House has over 30 staff and 50 volunteers. We supported a record number of new clients in 2023, reaching 1756.

Lucy Budge, CEO of My Sisters’ House, said: “We are beyond delighted to be the chosen charity of the Markel Magnolia Cup this year. As a local charity, run by women, for women, we love what the Magnolia Cup stands for, and has achieved, in terms of championing women and womens opportunities. We’re excited to work with Goodwood and Markel on this wonderful event, which will make such a difference to us as a charity, and to the rapidly growing numbers of vulnerable woman we support in the local community.”

Her Grace, The Duchess of Richmond said: “We are so pleased to be supporting My Sisters’ House as the charity for the Markel Magnolia Cup this year. My Sisters’ House provide incredible support to women locally, improving their welfare and wellbeing. Goodwood is a key part of the local community, and it gives me great joy to be helping raise funds for a local charity as important as My Sisters’ House.”
