Jess Impiazzi with Natasha Mills from My Sisters’ House

Today My Sisters' House had the pleasure of welcoming a special guest at our office in Bognor Regis – the actress, Jess Impiazzi. Known for her roles in various films and TV shows, including C.B. Strike, Keep Calm & Carry On, and Override, Jess was so genuinely enthusiastic for our cause.

The only women’s centre in West Sussex, My Sisters’ House is dedicated to providing trauma-informed support to self-identifying women across Arun and Chichester. We create a safe and empowering environment for those at medium-risk of domestic abuse, as well as providing welfare and wellbeing services. Through her support, Jess wishes to not only bring attention to our work but also highlight the importance of raising awareness and breaking the stigma of abuse for survivors and their families.

Throughout her visit, Jess took the time to engage with our incredible team, who shared their frontline experience with supporting women in need within the local community.

One programme that particularly resonated with Jess was our NSPCC created D.A.R.T. program (Domestic Abuse Recovery Together). This programme is designed to support Mothers that have been affected by abuse and their children between the ages of 7 and 14. Helping them unravel the impact that abuse has had on their family, the team was able to show Jess examples of artwork created my Mums and their children, clearly showing the positive impact on their lives and relationships.

“Growing up in a violent household myself has had an impact on many things throughout my life” shared Jess. “After visiting My Sisters’ House I was blown away by the help that is offered to women and children who are impacted by this. As a child who witnessed violence in the home, I know that having someone to make you feel safe is key, and the work My Sisters’ House does to provide that support is nothing short of incredible as well as their on going support to help women rebuild their lives. It stood out to me how much the staff care and I feel truly grateful to have met everyone doing such important work.”

Jess' warm personality helped her fit right in, and her empathy and willingness to connect with everyone she encountered was really wonderful. The team at My Sisters’ House is incredibly passionate about creating a sisterhood of solidarity and support, so it was a pleasure to let Jess experience this first-hand.

We’re excited to work together at the Goodwood Magnolia Cup and beyond.

Thanks Jess!
